A video card going bad in a computer is troublesome but it is something that can end up being simple to fix or more complex. The first thing that I would do is look over the client’s computer to ensure the problem is with the video card. I would start by checking all the connections to make sure that they are secure. The next thing that I would do is power up the system and listen to a whining sound to see if the card is getting enough power or not. I would also listen for a series of beeps to see if the video card is being detected or not. If I determined that it was the video card I would power off the computer and take all the cords out and take the case apart and access the video card to see if it is unseated or not. If the video card is unresponsive then I would replace it.
