I am Auuii from Mangalbare-02, Ilam, Nepal which is one of the celebrated tourism places known as tea garden, and also for the view of sunrise.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
As for my academic background, I have completed my School Leaving Certificate with 62.63% from Suryodaya Shiksha Sadan Higher Secondary School, situated in Mangalbare, Ilam, Nepal in June, 2011. Right after that, being interested in Hospitality Management, I completed +2 in Management with Hospitality Management as my major with 58.60% under Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), from Kathmandu Unified City Higher Secondary School located at Chabahil, Kathmandu in the year 2013. Besides, my passion for cooking and serving family, I realized that Hospitality and Tourism industry is blooming and is one of the important industry of Nepal contributing largely in its economy as well as generating various job opportunities. Hence, I decided to get enrolled to study Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management (BAHM) from Indian Hotel Academy, located in Delhi, affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, India. I completed my bachelor degree with 60.54% in the year 2016 (December).GAP REASONS
After the completion of the degree, I returned back to my home country. Generally, it takes 6 months to get the transcripts issued but in my case, due to misunderstanding with college administration and university in fee transactions, I was only able to get the final certificate on 12 March, 2018. While waiting for the documents, I decided to work and got selected as a ‘Food and Beverage captain in Hotel Hardik which is one of the most renowned hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal. I got engaged there for almost one year four months [19th June 2017 to 26th October 2018]. In between the period, being determined to go abroad for further studies, I decided to give IELTS test in 2017. However, late collection of documents led in late application for abroad study.REASONS FOR OPTING AUSTRALIA RATHER THAN OTHER COUNTRIES INCLUDING MY OWN HOME COUNTRY
I have chosen Australia for several reasons. First; due to its climate. Nepal has moderate temperature throughout the year, especially in my reason, somehow cold but not so hot. I can find the identical temperature in the Sydney. Second; cultural diversity. We have so many ethnic groups in our country. Many articles suggest that Nepal is very rich in cultural diversity and I have found that Australia is being very popular to live, chosen by different nationalities and religions. I believe, identity security is an important factor in abroad studies and the Australian government is more concerned about it. That is why it is in the top priority of the foreign students. Third, I am really impressed with the teaching pedagogy of Australian education institution with affordable cost compared to other country in the globe. I have firm confident that Australia can polish and enhance my hospitality knowledge by being in the capital of the beautiful and prosperous country in the world.
Why not US?
Though the US has been in the first choice of the international students. US was established as a great ocean of knowledge and technology. But the popularity of USA is not so strong these days due to frequent misuse of gun and increased criminal activities. Natural disaster is also another problem specially sea typhoon. Moreover, USA’s institutions require many tests like TOEFL, GRE, and GMAT etc. which are time consuming as well as expensive tests for students. Above all, the visa rate is very low. The present government is no so friendly to foreign students as it sees everyone as an immigrant point of you. My friends over there are hopeless regarding their future and hovering uncertainty. In addition to this, daily mass shooting news coverage by the CNN and the New York times made me uncomfortable to choose the US.
Why not U.K?
I have no doubt regarding UK education system. Many world’s top educational institutions are present there. However, prior to apply I have to consider my money constraint. Cost of living and tuition fees are found costlier in the UK compared to Australia. Also, the educational institutional are found to be fraud and getting collapsed one by one damaging thousands of international students’ career. Moreover, there is no such student friendly rules and regulation like that of Australia. The Way Australia provides peaceful environment can’t be found in other country.
Why not Canada?
These days, Canada has been emerged as the study destination for international students. The educational quality of Canada is also being appreciated in international arena but the main problem is its extreme cold climate due to which I could not dare to choose I am not habituated in such climate.
Why not my own home country or MGU?
While talking about Nepal, some colleges in Nepal which are affiliated to Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Pokhara University offers Master program in tourism and hotel management with fewer seats; available seats are less compared to demand.
Through my research I found that NATHAM (National Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management) and Kantipur International College etc provide Master degree in Hospitality Management. Yet they are far behind the modern learning and teaching methods. They still utilises unrevised courses, old teaching methods, teacher-centered education and put more emphasis on theoretical rather than practical knowledge. They also lack in skilled professional staffs. Further, uncertain examination schedule and theoretical approach teaching methodology are the main cause of my reluctance to approach my home country. The main drawback of Nepalese education is that it gives more value to student’s grades rather than their skills and abilities. Nepal’s University rankings are very low compared to Australia. And also, it takes longer time to finish course and publish the result. I have seen my seniors who had done their masters from Nepal are still struggling to get satisfied jobs.
Regarding MGU (Mahatma Gandhi University), India from where I completed my Bachelor level. Similar to Nepal’s University its ranking is low and its degree is not globally recognized. I was also disappointed with the University’s slow processing of my academic documents due to which I got my documents issued almost 1 and half year late. So, I choose Australia rather than any other countries.
REASONS FOR CHOOSING MASTER DEGREE IN MANAGEMENT (TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY)
Hospitality management has unlimited opportunities, possibilities, wider scope and career opportunities throughout the world as well as in Nepal. It is evident that hospitality plays critical role in global economy and also creates high percentage of jobs worldwide. Its wider scope and career options appealed me. Understanding its value and my passion for it, I chose the same in my +2 high school as well as Bachelor level. In order to gain senior managerial skills, operational skills, insight knowledge of industry and broaden my experience which are fundamental for hospitality management industry, I decided to continue my studies and go for Master in Management (Tourism and Hospitality). This programme will help me to lead my career path and to be leader providing expert and abundant knowledge in this field. To flourish and develop tourism and hospitality industry, there is a need of professionals with sound knowledge of tourism and management skills which can lead tourism industry to a whole new level making the economy strong and stable. I can obtain such professionalism from this course and use it to develop my country’s tourism sector. These are my reasons behind choosing ‘Master of Management (Tourism and Hospitality)Why ICMS?

COURSE STRUCTURE
As I have done three years bachelor degree, I will have to go with ”Graduate Certificate of Business leading to Master of Management(Tourism and Hospitality) at ICMS College Sydney’. The proposed two years program is designed with a view to provide us with the perfect balance of theoretical course work and practical experience in business, hospitality and tourism. Upon completion of 18 weeks (1st semester), I will get credit for the MasterThe course will run for 3 semesters (12 subjects) on campus course study and 1 semester is for in-term work experience and it will be around 600 hours work integrated learning. In the last semester, industrial internship will be provided to experience what we learn, and how to implement the knowledge in the actual field. With an international degree, I can get jobs in local as well as chain Hotels like Hotel Dwarika, Hotel Hyatt Regency, Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Hotel Yak and Yeti, Resorts like Fulbari Resort, Gokarna Forest Resorts etc. Also jobs at government tourism bodies like Nepal Tourism Board , airlines like Buddha Airlines, Yeti Airlines, Nepal Airlines etc., casinos like Casino Royale, Casino Everest, Casino Radisson; travel agencies like Yeti Travel Pvt. Ltd, Everest Travel Service Pvt. Ltd, convention and event organisation and many others. Gaining reputed Australian degree will make me more demanding in the market. Managerial position, may it be a Restaurant Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Front office Manager, Accommodation Manager, Human Resource Manager, Catering Manager, Customer Service Manager, Event Manager, Tour Manager, Retail Manager and many more are the posts where I can work. As far as income is concerned, I can make around NRs. 75,000 to NRs. 90,000 monthly along with few other allowances at a starting level which will be increased as per my experience.
It would be proud moment for me as it is what I am aiming for. As I had always wanted to serve my country in whatever I am good at, I will return back Nepal and grab those opportunities. I will work few years on those managerial position of Tourism and Hospitality field to enrich my knowledge and skills. After gaining experience for some years, I will be starting my own business being it a Hotel or Restaurant in Nepal, promoting Tourism. As I am from Ilam District located in eastern belt of Nepal, which is one of the most beautiful tourism places in Nepal and there is no any renowned hotel in my place yet, I want promote my own home town with the slogan “LET THE WORLD KNOW THE REAL HEAVEN” and start a 5 star hotel business.
As I have no brother, I will be surely be back to my home land to take care of my parents as they are getting old and being a single son I have responsibility to my family. I also have to look after my parents’ properties in Nepal. And as a concerned citizen, I have some responsibilities towards my country. I have to pay my debt to my country which it has given to me all these years. So, I will return to my country, do the things which I am good at i.e Hotel and Tourism industry.
