Do insects have respiratory pigments in their blood like humans and other vertabrates?
I know in humans, we have a respiratory pigment called hemoglobin which is very important for our respiratory system. This pigment is required because it helps carry oxygen to the blood and circulate it to different parts of the body and converts the deoxygenated blood into oxygenated blood to release carbon dioxide back into the environment. I know that insects have spiracles to take in oxygen but how does that directly impact the pigments and just the respiratory system as a whole. Do insects have something like that that is similar to vertebrates?

As we know there are many insects that feed on human blood, such as a mosquito. These insects do not have the same type of blood as we humans do. Their “blood” is called hemolytic heterogeneous fluid. When they eat food, or in this case feed on blood, their bodies break it down to take nutrients that end up in our blood stream.
How would the nutrients from our blood mix with theirs if they are different? Also do they have something particular in their body that allows them to break down our blood or something that gives them more nutrients from our blood that other animals wouldn’t be able to get?
In order for insects to feed on human blood they have to have the right mouth type, is that the only reason only particular insects feed on human blood?
