Module 1 Content: Personal Nursing Philosophy
The purpose of this paper is to define, describe and explain your thoughts, feelings and beliefs about the four concepts of the nursing metaparadigm and their interrelationship to one another as they guide your current nursing practice. There are no right or wrong or wrong thoughts, feelings or beliefs, as these represent your own philosophical beliefs. If your current philosophy includes any particular nursing theory please identify these. What are some examples of how you practice the art of nursing and the science of nursing in your position?Introduction: Identifies purpose of the paper
Brief description of the factors influencing the development of the personal nursing philosophy
Define, describe, and explain your personal thoughts, feelings and beliefs about the concepts of the nursing metaparadigm:
Person/client
Environment
Health
Nursing
Summarized interrelationship of the concepts
Summary and conclusionInclude a minimum of two scholarly sources from peer-reviewed journals (examples located here) https://www.nursingcenter.com/journals-articles/journalsGo to the Albany State University Library site and conduct a literature review (the password for Galileo is located on the homepage of D2L). Use several of the databases available. Identify the databases and search words you would use. Example: CINAHL, Cochran, Ebsco Host, etc.
Write 2 to 3 written (double-spaced) pages (Also include a title page and reference page) paper using APA guidelines. The paper must also include an introduction paragraph which has a purpose statement (The purpose of this paper is….), a conclusion paragraph, and a reference page. Use levelheadings in your paper: Headings are a visual organizer. DO NOT add a running head. Use Arial or NTR Size 12. Spell and grammar check.
Locate the already formatted academic paper template using APA 7th ed. as a guide. Save this document to your computer and then reuse for every assignment.

Start your introduction paragraph here. This paragraph sets up what you will be writing about. As you can see above, the title of your paper is the first initial level one heading and is not bolded. You will need to change the header I have here to reflect your paper title. Do not create titles longer than a few words. Never have a double-line title in the header. All paragraphs must have a minimum of three sentences. Include a thesis statement. Ex: The purpose of this paper is…. Always add a purpose statement to every assignment submitted. Download this document and save on your computer. Use for all academic papers to ensure formatting is correct.
Second Level Heading to Separate Concepts
Level headings are bolded. Use a level one heading to separate content for ease of reading. When someone sees a page of writing it is a turn off. Headings help to organize your paper. The goal is to keep the reader engaged enough to read what you have taken so much time to produce.
Software Training
This is a level three (3) heading for use when you have categories related to a larger topic. Level two headers are another way to organize the paper. All papers may not use a level two heading so this can be deleted.
Hardware Training
As you can see, I have chosen to write about software and hardware related to technology use. This heading is Level three (3). This organization is necessary in academic writing.
How to Turn on a Computer. As you can see there are more ways to organize your information. This is a level four (4) heading. As your writing becomes more elaborate you will use this level of heading.
How to Turn Off a Computer. And here is a level five (5) heading. It is unlikely you will need to use headings past a level 3. Usually the headings of four and five are for long works such as a research article, thesis, or dissertation.
Conclusion
Always wrap up the content of your paper with a conclusion or summary paragraph. You are basically restating what you said in the paper in an abbreviated format. Use this formatted document to set up your papers. This sample is just a beginning format lesson for you. Always consult your APA text to ensure that other formatting needs are completed correctly. Below you will see a reference list. Note the heading is NOT bolded. I have inserted a few examples of formatted references for your review. Always follow APA guidelines and do not rely solely on a site to format references for you. Many journals use totally different writing guidelines.
