Title Page
The title page needs to adhere to the APA format required by the University. There is a sample of an APA formatted title page in the Writing Center. For the title page, create an interesting and catchy title that motivates your audience to read your paper.
Introduction (1 page)
Your paper’s introduction should include the background or history of your chosen event, why the topic is important to research and analyze, and your thesis.
First, the introduction should provide a bit of background for your reader. Do not assume your reader knows about the topic and its history. Share with your reader the time and place that the event occurred and provide a little background. Include a brief review of what led up to the event, why it was such a significant or historic moment, who it involved, etc.
Then, add in the introduction why this is an important topic for research and analysis both for current and future concerns.
Finally, the thesis is the main point of your paper. You should consider your objective (what is the main point you want your reader to remember), consider your audience, and make the thesis connect to what will be covered in your paper. Since the Final Research Paper specifically requires that you discuss how the event influenced human behavior, human expression, and ethics, your thesis should reflect this. For example, “World War II was a significant historic event that had a tremendous effect on society’s behaviors, resulted in a diverse range of human expression, and raised ethical considerations that may influence society for years to come.” You will want to make a connection between your thesis and the discussion to follow. In this way, your reader is given a preview of the content of the paper and why it is important.
Discussion/Analysis
This is the main body of your paper. Now that your reader knows your main point and has the necessary historic context for the event, you can analyze how the topic influenced human behavior, human expression, the ethical considerations related to the event, your critical analysis, recommendations and evaluation of the recommendations.
Human Behavior, Human Expression, & Ethics (3 pages)
In your discussion on human behavior, you should identify the behavioral response to the event. Keep in mind that sometimes behaviors are connected to human expression; therefore, you may find that your discussion on human behavior overlaps with human expression. As you explore the human behavior related to the event, consider the following:
· What were some of the behavioral responses to the event (war, riots, celebrations, the manner people dressed, actions they took, causes they joined, etc.)?
· What emotions were tied to these behaviors (anger, joy, grief, etc.)?
· Why did people respond the way that they did?
· Did distinctive groups (cultural, religious, genders, geographically different, socioeconomically different, etc.) respond differently to the event? If so, why?
· What were the effects on the way people dressed, how political they became, changes in traditional roles or society’s expectations?
When you discuss human expression, keep in mind that often, human expression is exhibited through behaviors. Therefore, you may find overlap as you write about these two areas. For example, joining a political movement is both a behavior and an expression of beliefs. Some examples of human expression are:
· films
· literature, poetry, plays
· music/songs
· art, architecture, photography, sculpture
· political/social causes
· dance
· fashion
· protests/tributes
· culinary art (food dishes)
· politics/debate
· social causes
· philosophy/religion
· pop culture
· technology
Other questions to consider as you research human expression related to your topic are:
· What was the emotion that led to the expression (shock, horror, triumph, fear, joy, etc.)?
· How does diversity affect the expression (example: do some ethnic groups produce certain forms of art, how is art connected to gender, religion, race, etc.)?
When analyzing ethical issues, there are two ways to approach this topic. You can either consider how ethical issues led to the event (for example, the morality of slavery leading to the Civil War) or how the event itself resulted in ethical dilemmas/conflicts. An example of this might be the ability of technology to conduct stem-cell research, is it ethical to do so? In your paper, you may opt to take either approach or address both of these aspects if they both apply to your topic. Some questions that will help you develop this discussion of your paper are:
· What are the opposing perspectives on this issue?
· Are there extenuating circumstances that sometimes make this event viewed as “right” or “wrong”?
· How do religious beliefs, nationality, ethnicity, gender, economic status, and other aspects of diversity influence the interpretation of this event?
· Who is (was) talking about this event and whose voice is (was) not heard or included?
· What are the elements of power and privilege that are relevant to this event?
· What bias, agendas, stereotypes and/or prejudices are evident?
· Has hindsight changed the views of the ethical issues?
Be sure to present a balanced view in your ethical discussion. Even if you strongly affiliate yourself with a particular view on the topic, use your critical thinking and research skills to also present opposing viewpoints to provide an objective presentation. Remember, this is a research paper, not an opinion paper.
Critical Analysis of Situation & Recommendations (3 pages)
For this section, use critical thinking skills to analyze the event and provide discussion on the relevance of the topic to contemporary issues, as well as future concerns that the event may create. Since your topic is on a significant historic/cultural event, there are likely some lasting consequences or influences that resulted from it. Questions to help with the analysis in your discussion:
· How did the event change the world or at least change some aspect of society?
· How did the event raise concerns for the future and/or how does the issue continue to evolve?
· What are the “lessons learned” from the event?
· What will people do differently now than they did before?
· How are governments, education or other parts of the social structure responding to the event?
· What laws have been put in place because of the event?
· What organizations or movements continue to be active?
· How does the topic background/ context/ outcome relate to current issues?
· Is the topic ongoing or can it happen again?
· What can be learned from the topic/ outcome that can be applied to future considerations?
· What areas of future study would you recommend to understand this topic?
The last aspect of this discussion area should be recommendations to address the topic/ event and rationale for why the recommendations would work.
· If the topic is ongoing, how to manage it, end it and/or how society can take steps either that it does not happen again or to promote its further existence and broadening (depending on if the topic is a societal positive or negative).
· What specific recommendations could be/ can be applied to the situation?
· Explain why these recommendations would work short and long term.
Conclusion (1 page)
Your conclusion should tie your entire paper together. It should strongly reconnect with your thesis (the main point of your paper), briefly summarize the discussion section and reiterate why the topic is important.
The conclusion is the end of your research paper that is written in third person. However, for the critical thinking process, it is necessary to analyze and evaluate your reflection into the process. Add a separate section that is written in first person (your personal narrative) including these elements:
Personal Reflection (separate section written in first person) (2 pages)
1. Lessons learned from completing this project
2. Analysis of process challenges – what would you do differently?
3. Analysis of process positives – what did you do well?
4. Application of critical analysis to professional/personal life
5. Final thoughts

Research Topic- Social Networking Sites
Research Topic- Social Networking Sites
For the research project, I pick social networking sites as my topic of interest. Precisely, the research will aim to explore the effectiveness/impact of social networking organizational brand image. Technological advancements and the development of the computer, mobile technologies, and the internet have opened numerous avenues for people to interact remotely, efficiently, and faster (Nisar & Whitehead, 2016).
Due to these technological developments, millions of people worldwide have internet access and subscribe to at least one social networking site. This has provided businesses with opportunities for marketing and brand development. However, there is inconclusive research regarding social media’s role and effectiveness as a tool for branding (Nisar & Whitehead, 2016). The inconclusive research makes the proposed study both relevant and significant.
To ensure that the research results are reliable and devoid of bias, I will provide high levels of objectivity. Also, I will ensure that the data collected is not based on my previous knowledge regarding social networking sites to ensure that the findings are not my opinions (Moser & Korstjens, 2018). Further, data to support my study’s interpretations will be collected from many sources to ensure triangulation and verification. Finally, I will ask some of my peers to review the findings from the research.
In conducting the research, both primary and secondary data sources will be used. Secondary sources will constitute data that has already been collected by other people or institutions and which can provide important literature for use in completing the study. On the other hand, primary data sources are original and collected first hand for given research (Moser & Korstjens, 2018). In the case of the proposed study, journal articles and books can be used as primary data sources.
To ensure that the data collected is valid, reliable, and up to date, I will select data sources published recently and peer-reviewed articles to ensure the accuracy of the collected data (Moser & Korstjens, 2018). Moreover, the data sources ( both primary and secondary) will be selected based on relevance to the topic to ensure that the research meets its desired goal of exploring the role and effectiveness of social networking sites on brand image.
Scholarly journals are original research articles that are written by experts and researchers in a specific academic discipline. They provide a forum through which knowledge can be produced and critiqued. Some of the critical characteristics of a scholarly journal include:
· Authors have certain credentials
· They are longer than five pages.
· They have a specific focus. For instance, contributing original or new research on a narrow topic
· Formal language, and structure.
Scholarly journals provide alternative viewpoints and explanations regarding specific research arguments (Moser & Korstjens, 2018). Subsequently, they will offer in-depth knowledge and data on the topic and provide a basis for validating my research findings. Moreover, Scholarly articles will be a useful source of primary data for completing the study.

Introduction
Social networking is a critical component in business and has an undisputed impact on marketing and brand development. Platforms offering social networking have been used by organizations to improve performance by providing an essential avenue for communicating with potential customers. This technology has opened up the world, making it easier for business to reach their target market over a short period of time (Gope, 2012).
Additionally, the competition in the market has been elevated to another level, with the small businesses now able to market and advertise their brands without huge investments. Unlike the old times, when vast amounts of capital were required to get to the consumers, it is now easier to deliver a message that reaches everyone on the internet worldwide. Businesses can promote their brands either through paid platforms or free platforms according to their abilities (Gope, 2012).
Marketing and brand development have been transformed by introducing social networking, with most companies shifting their attention to the new trend. This has led to profitability as the capital needed to market and advertise can be redirected to fill other business operations gaps. The technology has further improved relationships between organizations and customers. Feedback is easily accessed, providing the organizations with crucial insights towards their services, enhancing brand loyalty to customers through frequent interactions, and improved website traffic (Zhao & Burt, 2018).
With the increased use of these sites, it is crucial that the business entities well address the social aspects such as morality, health, and education as they interact with their customers. Technology has a significant role in decision-making, and companies must adhere to their customers’ data’s ethical concerns. This paper focuses on analysing humanities, particularly human behavior and expression, ethics, recommendations on the issues, and future prospects (Zhao & Burt, 2018).
Analysis of Humanities
Human behavior
From the name social networking, it is evident that the sites involve interaction between different people from various backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, races, and nationalities, among many subdivisions. The relationship with these people highly depends on their behaviors, and an individual can influence both directly and indirectly. Addressing the issue is primarily influenced by proper understanding before coming up with solutions.
Therefore, the business must focus their attention on analyzing and developing a strategy to influence human behavior to their advantage without exploiting them. This should adequately come out as a culture of the company. People are mostly accustomed to settings that accept them by accommodating their beliefs, occupations, demands, and interests (Hasani et al., 2019).
The presence of conflict in behavior between people or groups leads to others trying to be above others or requiring more attention. Humans are always in a battle of being at an advantageous position in power, resource allocation, and social status. This results in a competition where the behavioral practices of others are downplayed by those superior to them. There is often a need to suppress others’ behavior in society, and these have to be managed effectively by the organization on their social networks to promote equity.
In the workplace, behavior among the staff who control social sites is also a critical concern that needs attention to offer excellent marketing and brand development. It is crucial that the business entity is aware of what they say, how they deliver it, and how the information is received in the outside environment. What kind of behavioral conclusions does it portray to potential customers. Understanding the target population and designing the appropriate approach to use and that to be dropped is beneficial (Hasani et al., 2019).
Human Expression
The world is quickly moving to a more online interaction as compared to physical contact of people. In a significant way, these advancements have affected business operations, with many firms investing more in the use of social networking sites. With more people interacting in these platforms, studies have focused on their effective use in relaying information from psychological and sociological perspectives (Hasani et al., 2019). The studies indicate human expressions as one of the crucial determinants of peoples’ perception.
The social media platforms form a virtual world that requires an expressive approach that creates a more realistic experience. For effective marketing and brand development over the sites, the companies have to develop attention-grabbing expressions that will attract online users from other social media sites. There should be a feeling of uniqueness that is created by eliminating the artificial environment by creating a more natural feel in interactions.
Ethical Issues
As people interact over social networks by sharing and exchanging information, interests, and ideas, ethics must be addressed to avoid infiltration of personal or professional privacy. Customers’ privacy includes the use of their information for data mining in unauthorized ways without their consent. Also, introducing cookies that collect data from users, using location sensors to record and monitor users’ physical addresses, and face detectors can track similar images on online sites (Jurisová, 2013).
Survey scams are a common privacy concern on social media platforms such as Facebook, which misguides users to click links that lead to downloading unwanted software, hence promoting scammers with commissions from downloads or related links. Twitter users are targeted using shortened URLs that redirect them to undesired harmful sites. Most hackers use appealing messages that popup on social sites that are designed to copy and transfer private information to their computers, which they use for malicious purposes. On the other hand, LinkedIn is characterized by spread-phishers who perform data mining and, in return, acquire useful data from their victims (Jurisová, 2013). They can also use malicious software like z-bot to steal email information and passwords.
Business entities need to safeguard their social network sites to ensure that perpetrators do not use them in evil ways. The intellectual property of customers should be guarded and prevent misleading information from reaching them. Transferring data from an organization to another without the owner’s consent is equally an ethical issue that has to be addressed. This is because it goes against social media’s protection and privacy policies (Jurisová, 2013).
Recommendations
Efficient use of social network sites for marketing and brand development will definitely lead to any business’s profitability and growth. Better analysis of humanities on aspects of behavior, expression, and addressing ethical concerns is pivotal in achieving the goals. This part addresses the recommendations for tackling the three areas.
Human behavior shortcomings must be dealt with to ensure that the customers have a better experience when interacting over social sites. Organizations should develop cultures that bring together different behaviors, such as customs, ethnicity, knowledge levels, and beliefs. This way, they influence the individual actions enhancing understanding, security, unity, and better interactions (Vassileva, 2017). Social conflicts can be eliminated through policies, incentives, and forcing users to comply with set laws. The response to customers on social media during interactions should lead to a positive perception. Staff should be well-groomed and try to respond with non-provocative terms. Customers are always keen on the behavior that affects reviews and comments displayed on the sites when portrayed wrongly.
Human expression is closely related to behavior and can be mitigated in almost similar ways. However, additional recommendations include using photos, films, videos, and other technological aspects in an appropriate way to capture the attention of targeted consumers easily. There should be a clear distinction in the way marketing is done to attract the customers’ eyes. To thrive in online brand development, creativity is an important area that cannot be downplayed. Organizations have to create sites that compel the customers to follow them and pass the information to return.
Ethics is a common area of discussion whenever interactions between two or more people are involved. In social networking, there is much exchange of information between customers and organizations. The business firms have the responsibility to protect the information given to them. Companies should ensure that they own the information displayed on their websites. Misleading information that can lead to the installation of malicious software should be eliminated. Permitting other organizations to use customers’ intellectual property should only be done after their consent. Ads and promotions from companies should follow privacy regulations to prevent phishing by hackers, which is becoming common on social sites (Vassileva, 2017).
Conclusion
Social networking is the new trend that sets new competition grounds in the business environment today. Marketing and brand development have benefited a lot from the advancements in technology. It can be done over online interaction platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. However, the two activities’ effective accomplishment depends on approaches to humanitarian issues like behavior and expression. Ethics also comes in as a way to safeguard the processes. This paper has discussed the three areas simultaneously and come up with recommendations that can be applied to achieve marketing and branding over online sites successfully.
