This course has sharpened my skills on the newest technology available to Law Enforcement (LE). I believe the most ironic part is a supplemental question asked by Dr. Kelly requiring me to elaborate on Telemedicine. This past week required me to assist in an inmate transport from Baton Rouge, Louisiana back to Shreveport. At the pick-up facility, the staff discussed with us the “Tele med records” and its contents. It was directly correlated to my coursework and I knew exactly what they were talking about. 
As the field of Juvenile Probation continues to expand, our most recent chapter on militarization pointed me in another familiar direction. We collaborate with other governmental agencies and share information that is crucial to our success in combating crime, especially sex trafficking and illegal firearms. When I “suit up” for fieldwork, I often wonder if people see me as military rather than LE, from the combat boots to the protective vests. 
Additionally, the section on the Dark Net was eye opening. I have already applied suggested security strategies to protect my identity and personal information against attacks. I believe the area of cybersecurity and cyberattacks will be one of the largest threats in the near future and this course has prepared us for it.
