Your next writing assignment will be a background review and synthesis of the literature for the topic of your research-based report. 

Your Personal Essay should address why you selected pharmacy as a career and how the Doctor of Pharmacy degree relates to your immediate and long-term professional goals. Describe how your personal, educational, and professional background will help you achieve your goals. The personal essay is an important part of your application for admission and provides you with an opportunity for you to clearly and effectively express your ideas.

Your synthesis essay, or literature review, should be 2000-2500 words, not including your “Works Cited” pages at the end of the review. In other words, the text of the paper should be 2000-2500 words. In addition your synthesis essay should include at least 10 scholarly sources in the “references” section. As stated above, this means that you may decide not to use all 12 sources that you summarized in your annotated bibliography. You are free to use all 12 of them. However, it is possible that your experience in writing summaries of the 12 sources led you to conclude that a few of them will not be as helpful to your topic as you had originally thought. You may decide not to include such sources in the synthesis essay. This is totally up to you. Moreover, you might find other sources that you would like to include in your synthesis essay that were not included in your annotated bibliography.

Your best friend Anthony Drums has asked your help in securing a job where you work. You want to help your friend, but you know his social media sites have photos and other material that violate your company’s social media policy. You also know that the human resources department of your company always does a thorough search of social media sites of prospective hires. You need to write an email to your friend that explains which content needs to be deleted from his social media accounts and why. You need to discuss how refusal to delete the inappropriate photos and material might impact his ability to get the job. Your email should clearly and specifically state the relevant rules from your company’s social media policy.

Your essays should be in MLA Style and approximately 1625-1950 words, not including the Work(s) Cited page. Meeting the minimum word requirement makes you eligible for a C grade. Meeting the maximum word requirements makes you eligible for an A grade. As with most academic writing, this essay should be written in third person. Please avoid both first person (I, we, our, etc.) and second person (you, your).In the upper left-hand corner of the paper, place your name, the professor’s name, the course name, and the due date for the assignment on consecutive lines. Double space your information from your name onward, and don’t forget a title. All papers should be in Times New Roman font with 12-point type with one-inch margins all the way around your paper. All paragraph indentations should be indented five spaces (use the tab key) from the left margin. All work is to be left justified. When quoting lines in literature, please research the proper way to cite short stories, plays, or poems.

Your good friends have just adopted a four-year-old child. At this point, the only socialization decision they have made is that the child is going to preschool. Imagine that you are an expert in your chosen field. Your friends have come to you for advice and to devise a plan to raise their child. They ask you to be frank with them and give them specific examples to support your opinions. They are determined to raise this child to the best of their ability. Since they are new parents, they need advice on everything!

You need to write a well-developed essay on one of the following topics, and your paper needs to include information from at least three outside scholarly secondary sources as well as the primary material (the literature, art, or music).  In other words, although some of the content will come from you, you need to include some supporting information from at least three respected, scholarly sources (journals, books—not vague websites). You must be sure always to clarify where your outside information is; in other words, introduce it and then document it properly.  Failure to follow proper guidelines in the use of others’ ideas is plagiarism. Review Module 2 very closely before you submit this assignment.

Your Letter of Transmittal should introduce the “primary reader to the purpose and content of the report” and “establishes a courteous and professional tone” (page 479). For a sample, see pages 488-489. Be sure to follow the guidelines in Chapter 18 and in the multi-media links provided under Required Resources in Week Five. Your Letter of Transmittal should be one page or approximately 250 words long. 

You should be nearing completion of all items in the degree program and will soon or may already be achieving the “all but dissertation (abd)” status.  What actions remain for you to achieve your goal and become a doctor?  What is your strategy moving forward?

You will also be required to attend 5 live performances and write 5 short paragraphs describing those performances. (Use youtube link please)

You will also continue your review of the literature and seek to fill gaps with additional research studies and sources. Why is this important?  150 -200 words please and thank you. 

You will turn in a response paper that analyzes one of the works in our textbook that is not on our reading list. This can be from any era, but it must be in your textbook. You should follow the same process you used for Essay 1, and consider reviewing your feedback from that assignment.

You will write a five-page essay (not including the Works Cited page) in response to one of the research topics listed below. You will choose one topic and decide to agree or disagree with the statement. Your essay will be a defense of your position.

You will write an essay (double spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font). Essays must be 1,200 words. In completing the essay, research must be conducted through 2–4 academic resources (peer-reviewed commentaries, monographs, and journal articles). Format the essay using current APA or MLA. ORIGINAL WORK ONLY!!! I WILL SUBMIT IT THROUGH A PLAGIARISM CHECK BEFORE PURCHASING!

You will write one response essay for each of the three main texts that we read as a class. Individual topics for these essays will grow out of your dialogue journal entries and our class discussions. Outside research is not required for the response essays, but you must properly cite the words and ideas you copy from out texts and our supplemental readings.

Your assignment is to create an ethics code for a hypothetical government entity or agency. Please describe the agency you propose, then create an ethics code for your agency. You can find helpful suggestions at the Institute for Local Government. This should run 2-3 pages in length. It should not be solely an aspirational code, meaning you need additional details on actions that are considered ethical or not such as details on gifts, political activity, etc. You can start with the broader concept of acting ethically and being inclusive but this should not be the extent of the code. Think of what you would want to see as an employee working for a government agency to give you a good understanding of what is or is not considered ethical in the agency. The agency you choose may have an impact on the type of code you design.
