This week and next, you will focus on your facility’s structure and the areas contained within it.

Write a 175- to 350-word response to the following prompt:

• Reiterate your chosen facility type and location (Mental Health Facility)

• In terms of traffic flow, describe your facility,

o Describe and explain the intended patient traffic flow

o Describe and explain the intended staff traffic flow/ workflow

• Use and cite the Hayward textbook and at least one other credible scholarly reference, using proper APA formatting for citation and reference listing.

• Submit your written assignment as an APA paper, Power Point, or other format of your choice.

o Cite in text and append a reference list

o Use APA-compliant headings in a paper or titles in a slide presentation

Create a floorplan for your chosen facility type that includes at least 3 to 5 distinct areas or rooms.

Using the drawing tool you chose. Choose either Roomsketcher or Floorplanner. Consider the following design elements and include them in your facility as appropriate:

• Facility structural components

o Walls

o Doors

o Windows

o Rooms

o Hallways

• Facility areas (but not equipment or furniture) as appropriate for your facility, such as:

o Space for patient service such as registration, bathrooms, amenities

o Space for diagnostic and treatment services, consultation, etc

o Space for laboratory equipment, radiology equipment, gases like oxygen, and suctions

o Space for clinical support areas, such as nurses’ station, charting areas, etc.

o Space for administrative offices

o Space for building support, such as laundry, generator facilities, housekeeping, etc.
