In Chapter 4 of the text – Managing & Using Information Systems: A Strategic Approach, the chapter discusses IT and Work Location. This week we looked at how technology allows workers to telecommute and “work from home”. This topic is very interesting, but complicated for the technology professional that must setup this arrangement.

Your company has decided to allow the sales team to telecommute and work in the field. You have 25 sales people who will be working outside of the walls of your organization. You are charged with developing a plan that includes specifics about PC equipment, remote connectivity to company servers and information, and collaboration tools like web video conferencing and file sharing.
